FAQ

What is this and who made it?

This is a Pokedex tracker for the Alola regional Pokedex made by Michael O'Connell-Davidson. It is a fork of (and was inspired by) the amazing Dark Souls 3 cheat sheet. For full credits, please see readme here.

How are Pokemon grouped?

Wild Pokemon are Pokemon that are caught (or derived from wild pokemon, i.e. Snubbull). I may change this to filter out evolutions in future.

Version exclusives are self-explanatory. Legendary / gift pokemon are 'one-ofs', such as Porygon or Type:Null.

Where did the information come from?

Serebii, Eurogamer, the Pokecommunity Daily, and Bulbapedia.

How do I read locations? It's not clear in some cases.

I tried to be as unambiguous or standard as possible, but some Pokemon are a pain in the ass. Semicolons (;) are designed to separate alternate locations / methods; nothing before a semicolon applies to what comes after it, and vice versa. Name of Pokemon followed by SOS means that it's a result of that pokemon calling for help.

Why doesn't it give an exhaustive list of locations?

Some Pokemon appear in too many places to make this worthwhile. I tried to just pick the 'easiest' location in all cases, such as those near fly spots. I like Poni Island, as the stuff there is high level so if it's not fully evolved it's not hard to push it over the level threshhold. I didn't give locations for Ultra Beasts because the location alternates, so you should follow the quest for those.

I've noticed a mistake / have suggestions!

Oh no! Tweet me and I'll fix it. Alternatively, submit an issue above or fork and submit a pull request. I'm still new to Github, so I'd rather be tweeted at.

How is my progress saved?

HTML5 Browser storage - so don't clear your cookies / cache or you may lose your progress. It does mean that if I add new features you won't be able to see them WITHOUT clearing your cache, however.

Any other stuff worth saying?

Thanks to those who provided the code base to this, as well as my lovely partner who has dealt with my overenthusiasm for Pokemon for many years without judging me.
